Certain glyphs have lower minor variants which can be used only at the bottom of a stack. (A column of one glyph is not a stack, thus lower minor glyphs cannot be in a column by themselves.) Two very common lower minor glyphs are {glyph _D} and {glyph _N} (used in place of {glyph D} and {glyph N}, respectively). {Glyph _ND} also a lower minor glyph, although there is no "standard glyph ND".

It is permitted to add any one of the minor glyphs S, T, TS to the right of a {glyph _N} or a {glyph _ND}, i.e. to form the word "E-_ND-S" or "A-_N-T H I L L".

{Glyph ED} is the T-type of {glyph _D}. Thus the construction "T-_D" is forbidden.

{Glyph Y} has a word-end variant {glyph _Y} which may be used instead at the end of a word. Keep in mind {glyph _Y} is a column glyph so it cannot be in any stack.
